Chung Lee

  Medical and Grocery Assistance

“This assistance enables me to be strong enough to leave my home and interact with people."

“I was the first person in my family to have NF1. I thought I had chickenpox. Papa researched and found a hospital that could diagnose my skin condition. I was 21 years old when I was married. When I became pregnant at age 24, the neurofibromas multiplied. Both my children were diagnosed with NF1 at birth. I owned a convenience store and lived in the apartment above it for many years (1990- 2023). I also raised both of my granddaughters for the first five years of their lives.

In 2018, I had trouble with my condition and had to close the store. I had to go through a left breast mastectomy and three cycles of chemotherapy completed in 2019. Currently, I am dealing with new lung lesions and my final rounds of chemotherapy.”

B Kind helped pay Chung’s medical bill and provided shipments of Ensure to aid her recuperation.

“I want to help the world understand more about NF1. This assistance will help me be strong enough to leave my home and be in the world where I can interact with people and tell my story.”
