Assistant Program Coordinator
Location: Remote | Type: Part-time (20 hrs/week) | Rate: $25–$30/hour
B the Difference is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with Neurofibromatosis (NF). We run two core programs: B Happy sends NF recipients and their families on all-expenses-paid vacations. Provides financial assistance for essential needs like food, medical care, and educational expenses.
We’re seeking an Assistant Program Coordinator to work closely with our Director of Operations and Executive Director to plan, execute, and enhance these programs.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and coordinating B Happy and B Kind programs, including recipient communications and logistical details.

Oversee program budgets, track expenses, and process payments.

Research and arrange travel for recipients and their families.

Conduct patient outreach and build strong relationships with NF families.

Research and apply for nonprofit grants.

Manage the organization’s social media calendar and craft engaging newsletters.

Option to host B Happy trips in person.
Experience & Skills

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping, and expense tracking.

Close attention to detail with the ability to anticipate needs and problem-solve.

Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Canva.

Experience researching and booking travel arrangements.

Graphic design experience preferred.
Qualifications

Understanding of the nonprofit sector is a plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with empathy in sensitive situations.

Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Comfortable engaging with the NF community and demonstrating resilience (“steel heart”).
